What We Do

Ranger painting pilchuckThe Washington State Parks Foundation is helping to raise operating revenues for Parks, build a constituency of Park supports, and fund projects that enhance recreational opportunities, restore habitat and provide educational as well as event programming.

Capital grants and donations to the Foundation are used to fund improvements such as:

  • New trails
  • Playgrounds
  • Habitat protection and restoration projects
  • Wildlife viewing opportunities
  • Interpretive centers
  • Rental yurts and cabins

Since teaching children about the environment is key to caring for it in the future, developing interpretive and educational facilities is a fundamental element of the Foundation’s mission.
