Leadbetter Point
The Foundation funded much-needed improvements to the Willapa Bay Water Trail, which runs through Leadbetter Point State Park. The park features beach frontage on the Pacific Ocean and Willapa Bay. It borders on the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, which includes about five miles of ocean beach and several miles of bay beach. Visitors can enjoy hiking, fishing and clamming at the park.
The improvements helped protect the area’s natural environment while providing safer beach access. Since the project was completed, native plant species have begun returning to the area.
